THE LIONS TALE
Muskegon Northside Lions Charities Inc.
January 2010 Vol. xxxi issue 7
President’s Column:
Fellow Northside Lions,
Another month, another column to let all of you know how much you are appreciated by not only your fellow club members but by the Lions of the world. I delivered your 5th $10,000 check to Oak Brook this past week as I was in attendance of a meeting with the Global Membership Team in which all of our Executive Officers were present. I was able to get all of them to stand still for a moment to have a priceless (for a club anyway) picture of your check being received. Lion Frank has the picture on our club website so if you want to see it he has it there. Thanks again for your work in not only making a visual difference to others but making our club visible as well.
January is usually a month to catch your breath but we still have things to do and to plan for. Please continue your good attendance at our gatherings twice a month to break bread with friends and to continue learning what we are all about. We will have a Leader Dog program this month as well as other good programs by our Program Chair. Be there or be missed. The club raffle is over $400.00 so there is another good reason to attend as well as the possibility of shaking the Secret Greeter's hand for $5.00.
All of you know that the Board meets the second meeting of the month and all are welcome. We would very much like to hear from you as to what direction you would like to see us go as well as projects (both service & fundraising) that you would like to suggest we take a serious look at. This is our club, not the Board's or any one individual's so everyone's opinion is needed to remain successful.
See you at the meetings,
President Dennis
Northside Lions Prayer List:
Please remember the following members in your prayers:
Lions Lore Teed, Bill Entsminger, and Tracy Knight.
From Power Consulting – Power Thoughts:
Be fearless this week. Live your week without any fear. Spend 10 minutes writing a new dream list. Spend 10 minutes writing a new list of rewards. Spend 10 minutes writing a list of fearless actions. Experience how different your results can be without fear.
Sondra and Jerry (Referring to goal lists and rewards for yourself upon their accomplishment)
Reminder:
Don’t forget the Valentine’s Party on the 6th of February. Any questions contact Lions, Roger, Barb, Cheryl, Deb or Dennis. Hoping to see everyone there for a fun night!
Notes of Interest:
On February 2nd Lions Dennis B. and Ernie will be at the Zone meeting in Grand Haven. Representing the Northside Lions.
Our Program for this evening will be Lisa Hegenbart from Junior Acheivement. If you’re retired and looking for something to do that will be a fantastic experience for you and help guide a group of young minds this is something you will be very interested in. I can speak first hand about the program as I was involved from 1981 until about 2002 or 3. I still meet students from the 80’s that remember their “Project Business” classes.
We would like to thank Eric Berger for a great program last meeting about the Leaderdog Program. He had lots of exciting new information about what is happening in the world of the working “Man’s Best Friend”.
THANKS! ERIC.

Don’t forget at the first meeting (Feb. 2nd) there will be a meeting of all the members that have received a Melvin Jones award right after the regular meeting.
Remember your 3rd quarter dues are due now.
